With Ashley Olsen she founded luxury clothing labels The Row, Elizabeth and James and the more economical Olsenboye, StyleMint and StyleMint. Olsen was a self-made actor in adulthood until 2012. Elizabeth Olsen is her older sister. Mary Kate was born in Sherman Oaks Los Angeles California. Her parents are Jarnette "Jarnie," an individual manager, and David Dave Olsen whom works as a mortgage banker and real estate developer. Alongside her twin Ashley, Mary-Kate has an older sister named Elizabeth Olsen; a younger brother, Trent and two half-siblings, resulting from her second marriage to her father.
